Fans of Lego and “Batman: The Animated Series" will have a chance to own a piece of history as Warner Bros. Discovery and DC celebrate 85 years of the Caped Crusader with a new brick set.
Lego Group on Thursday unveiled the Batman Gotham City Skyline set, an "amazing recreation of Gotham City as it appears in 'Batman: The Animated Series.'"
"This atmospheric set, a 3D recreation of the Gotham City skyline in Lego bricks, releases as Warner Bros. Discovery celebrates 85 years of Batman throughout 2024," Lego said in a news release.
The first Batman story, “The Case of the Chemical Syndicate,” was published March 30, 1939, after being written by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, according to DC Comics.

The set consists of 4,210 pieces that, when constructed, depict the Gotham City Court, Arkham Asylum, the classic Batwing and Bat Signal, Lego said.
"A Batman fan’s dream as every tower and building meticulously recreates iconic locations from Warner Bros. Animation’s 'Batman: The Animated Series,'" according to Lego.

Easter eggs and characters like Batman himself, Catwoman, the Joker and Harley Queen are included in the set. Parts of the set can also be opened to reveal "more intricacies inside," Lego said.
"The perfect set for DC fans, the Gotham City Skyline set is a stunning display piece which can be wall-mounted or placed on a shelf," according to the toy company.
The $299.99 set is for people 18 and older, Lego said. It will be available April 1 on Lego's website.
Background on 'Batman: The Animated Series'
The 85-episode TV series "Batman: The Animated Series" was released Sept. 5, 1992, and premiered on Fox Kids, the New York Times reported.
The show was created by Kane, Eric Radomski and Bruce Timm, according to IMDB.
The series follows Bruce Wayne, played by the late Kevin Conroy, as he manages the Wayne family fortune by day and assumes his "crime-fighting alter-ego" Batman by night, IMDB's storyline description reads.
"Throughout the show, Batman receives help from sidekicks Dick Grayson/Robin (Loren Lester) and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (Melissa Gilbert), as well as Police Commissioner James Gordon (Bob Hastings), in protecting the streets of Gotham City from a large rogue's gallery of criminals, lunatics, and nemeses," according to the description.
